WHAT CAN A VAJACIAL HELP WITH?

A vajacial has become a post-wax staple for many women and men. Although waxing is one of the best ways to avoid ingrown hairs in the long-term, this unique treatment to the bikini area resurfaces and eliminates those pesky hairs as well. In addition to ingrown hairs, a vajacial can help eliminate or significantly reduce the following skin issues:

  • Hyperpigmentation/Dark Spots
  • Inflammation
  • Scarring/Stretch Marks

CAN YOU GET A VAJACIAL WHILE PREGNANT?

Yes! There is nothing invasive that occurs during a vajacial, and much like waxing, the topical products used are totally safe for a pregnant woman. For those with extremely sensitive skin, or skin that is not reacting well to pregnancy, we advise you to contact your doctor or esthetician to discuss your options. Vajacials while pregnant is a great way to relax and feel confident in your bikini area, especially before giving birth! It is recommended not to get a vajacial too close to your due date, however, so plan to get one around a month before you are to give birth for the best results.

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU WAIT AFTER WAXING TO GET A VAJACIAL?

Ideally, you can get a smoothing vajacial right after your wax service. For the advance vajacial you should wait about 7 days after a bikini or Brazilian wax service. This amount of time allows the hair growth to form just beneath the skin so that any treatments received that target ingrown hairs can be most effective. Vajacials that target inflammation and redness are great to get right after a wax to soothe and calm the irritated skin. However, not all types of Vajacials are best suited for recently waxed skin, such as a brightening vajacial.

WILL A VAJACIAL EFFECT PH BALANCE?

No, as no part of the vajacial involves the actual vagina (internal area) a vajacial has no impact on your ph balance. We only work on the vulva (outer vagina area)

Vajacials not only helps to revitalize the skin on your most intimate area, but it also removes ingrown hairs and blackheads, improves circulation and skin elasticity, removes dead skin cells, prevents acne from forming, brightens hyperpigmentation and gives you a boost of hygienic confidence!

IS THE VAJACIAL SAFE?

It is important to understand that the vajacial is a cosmetic procedure, NOT a medical procedure

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE FOR A VAJACIAL?

  • No touching the area
  • No gym, working out, sauna or any activity that will cause you to sweat
  • Wear loose clothing for the next 24 hours
  • No exfoliation for a week (only for advance vajacials)

CAN I SHAVE BEFORE A VAJACIAL?

Vajacials are only performed on clients with hairless pubic areas, so it’s a process commonly performed on clients who have been sugared or waxed just prior. However, if you have not received a wax but have just shaved completely, consult with me to see if you’re a good candidate for a vajacial. No matter what you do, don’t shave over a fresh wax – it’ll just irritate the area further.

DOES A VAJACIAL INCLUDE A WAX?

Most Vajacials only include the general steam, extraction process, and mask in their overall treatment. However, Faced by Jes will allow you to book a wax prior to your vajacial to make sure that your skin is completely hairless, and to make sure the waxing you’ve received was done properly and professionally.

CAN I DO AT-HOME VAJACIAL?

Vajacials should only be performed by professional and licensed estheticians who are experienced with the treatment, process, and with hair removal. If not done professionally, you can easily run the risk of getting a mud mask or other vajacial products in internal areas where they should not be or applying products that are not professional grade to the vulva.

IN CONCLUSION

Overall, the vajacial has a lot of benefits. It is a treatment that’s been growing in popularity, especially recently, but isn’t always a usual go to following hair removal. If you often experience ingrown hairs, or if your pubic mound is very sensitive and gets irritated easily after a waxing session, it can always help out to soothe and ease irritation to give you a bit of a spa treatment afterwards.
